Building from zero, directed from abroad

A renovation has walls to argue with. A new build has nothing — which sounds like freedom and is mostly responsibility.

The setup

I direct the design and the construction remotely: the drawings, the decisions, the sequence. On the ground, certified local partners execute, under supervision that is deliberately more intensive than in any other service I offer — more frequent, more documented, more specific.

Why supervision, not technology

People assume the hard part is designing at a distance. It isn't; drawings travel well. The hard part is the hundred small interpretations that happen between a drawing and a finished wall. That's what supervision is for.

What it costs you

Patience at the beginning. Building from zero front-loads the thinking — every decision made early, before there's anything to look at.

Then the site moves fast, because there's nothing left to decide.
