There's a moment in every project when the door opens for the first time and the space is finally itself. In Herzliya, that moment arrived the day the kitchen wall came down.
The starting point
The original apartment was carved into small, closed rooms. The kitchen was tucked away, cut off from the light and from the life of the home. The family wanted one thing above all: to be together while cooking, eating and living.
The single decision that ordered the whole project was to open the kitchen to the living area — and let the light run all the way through.
What changed
- A continuous line of sight from the entrance to the terrace
- Warm oak against a calm, neutral palette
- An island that became the real centre of the home
Everything else followed from there. When the family walked in, nobody talked about materials or budgets. They just stood in the light.
